Chinese visitor complaints in Hong Kong drop 70 percent

The Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong said it received just 14 complaints from mainland tourists in January 2011, 70% less than the 46 recorded in the same period of last year.

The Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong said it received just 14 complaints from mainland tourists in January 2011, 70% less than the 46 recorded in the same period of last year.

In the first month of 2011, a total of 6,229 tourist groups traveled to Hong Kong, 6.4% less than in the same period last year.

Figures also show that TIC received 360 complaints from mainland tourists in 2010, with 18 recorded in December, 60% less than the same period a year ago.

In recent years, more and more mainland tourists are traveling to Hong Kong, becoming the city’s top tourist source.
