Experts in the field of green tourism will provide their insights on environmental issues as it relates to tourism at the inaugural World Travel Market (WTM) Vision Conference-Dubai being held on May 3.
The event, hosted at WTM’s sister event, Arabian Travel Market, includes two thought-provoking sessions, including a panel debate entitled “Is Green the new cutting edge?”
Acclaimed key speakers from the Middle East taking part include:
– Shaikha Ebrahim Al Mutawa, Director of Business Development and Chairperson of the Dubai Green Tourism Award, Government of Dubai DTCM; and
– Wael Al Lawati, CEO of Omran, the government of Oman’s tourism development and investment.
Shaikha has more than 8 years of experience involved in developing a variety of tourism projects, as well as leading a number of the DTCM Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Wael is the master-planner and developer for a range of tourism-related projects, including the site for the Second Asian Beach Games Muscat 2010, the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, and hotel and resort developments throughout Oman.
Furthermore, respected Harold Goodwin, Professor of Responsible Tourism Management and Director of the International Centre for Responsible Tourism at Leeds University, will use his considerable knowledge and expertise to moderate the panel session.
The first session of WTM Vision Conference–Dubai sees Euromonitor International’s Travel and Tourism Industry Analyst Nadeja Popova reveal the research company’s latest report, The Travel Industry Global Overview. The report will be given FREE to all delegates.
