HONOLULU, HI – Starting this weekend, the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) is leading an 18-member sales team for the state’s meetings industry at Meeting Professionals International’s World Education Conference, July 11-15 in Salt Lake City, UT.
More than 1,800 sales professionals worldwide are registered to attend. The Hawaii sales contingent will have an eye-catching presence on the tradeshow floor with a special themed section showcasing the natural beauty, colors, appeal, and diversity of the islands.
In addition, HVCB is hosting a special reception for key clients with Hawaiian music and hula by the Polynesian Cultural Center, artisans, and other special features to help recreate the spirit of Hawaii and generate leads on new business opportunities.
Leading the HVCB sales team is John Monahan, president and CEO; Michael Murray, CMP, CMM, CASE, vice president of sales and marketing for corporate meetings and incentives; and Adele Tasaka, senior director of accounts.
Joining them in selling the “Islands of Aloha” as a meetings destination are sales executives from the Kauai Visitors Bureau, Oahu Visitors Bureau, Maui Visitors Bureau, Big Island Visitors Bureau, and Hawaii Convention Center, along with representatives from Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa, Hilton Waikoloa Village, Hyatt Resorts Hawaii, Kapalua Resort, Marriott Resorts Hawaii, Polynesian Cultural Center, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hawaii, The Fairmont Kea Lani, and Turtle Bay Resort.
Dallas-based MPI is the meeting industry’s largest association with more than 24,000 members belonging to 70 chapters and clubs worldwide, including the MPI Aloha Chapter in Honolulu.
